300 Hour Yoga Alliance Certification

Details :

The program will run for 15 months —January thru March—Using the 200 namasDay Yoga manual with additions available throughout the year.

Teach asana each month inside the 200 Hour namasDay Program

Teach a certain subject and/or subjects agreed upon inside of the 200 Hour namasDay Program.  Subjects are to be discussed and prepped before training starts.  Assist Trainer with program that includes prepping, keeping space clean and tidy and in order, being mindful of others, help set up for each subject to be taught, etc.  

Possible Subjects:

  • Chakras (7 months – 7 Chakras)

  • Pranayama

  • Subtle Body Concepts such as: Prana, The Nadi System, Kosha’s, and Bandha’s 

  • Assist with Practice and study of Ayurveda, Assist with Posture Breakdown

Each month Participant will meet with the lead trainer on a one-to-one basis practicing and studying the content decided upon.

February:
Anatomy of Yoga

March – May:
Chakra’s, Posture breakdown (which includes anatomy, alignment, contraindications, sequencing, benefits, teaching script, Sanskrit, etc.)  Yoga Sutras, & Sound Education, Presentation and Practice of Moon Salutation, Sun Salutations A & B.

June
STAY RETREAT – Meditation, Teaching yoga to children, teens, seniors, students with disabilities, Pranayama, Student teach

July & August
Continuation of - Chakra’s, Posture breakdown (which includes anatomy, alignment, contraindications, sequencing, benefits, teaching script, Sanskrit, etc.) Yoga Sutras, & Sound Education.

September
Yoga Retreat in Idaho (includes teaching asana, Ayurveda, review yoga anatomy, review yoga philosophy, Restorative Yoga, participate in a Sound Bath, Meditation

October
Review all materials in preparation for final review.
Business of Yoga, Study of the Bhagavad Gita

November:
Adjustment Workshop & Final Review – celebration and certification presentation

About Your Instructor

Karen Day

Karen Day is a devoted yoga teacher, mentor, and healer with over 18 years of teaching experience and a 500 RYT Yoga Alliance certification.

Her most notable achievement is leading a successful 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program for 14 years, where she has certified numerous instructors through Yoga Alliance. Her comprehensive training program covers yoga philosophy, anatomy, meditation techniques, and the business aspects of yoga.

Since completing her first year-long training in 2006, Karen has built a thriving yoga business in Bountiful, Utah, specializing in functional yoga that makes the practice accessible to all. Her expertise extends beyond traditional yoga to include Yoga Nidra, Ayurveda, and sound healing. She has taught in diverse settings including studios, gyms, massage schools, high schools, and churches.

Drawing from her personal experiences, including grief processing, Karen offers a uniquely holistic approach to wellness. She leads transformative retreats and creates nurturing spaces for students at all levels to discover yoga's benefits for physical health, mental clarity, and emotional well-being.

Requirements and Commitment

  • Must have completed namasDay 200-hr. training

  • Attend all scheduled weekend trainings

  • Participate in two retreats

  • Weekly yoga class (in-person or zoom)

  • Monthly one-on-one meetings with Karen

  • Optional (but encouraged) monthly homework assignments
